This year our students will deliver the department's first fully online thesis presentation. The Class of 2020 has spent the past several months collaborating remotely to investigate the thesis topic: The Futures of Nearness. According to philosopher Martin Heidegger, nearness is linked to activities, moments, and movements of bringing-near, of bringing distant elements together into a meaningful whole. As branding professionals, how can we then use our talents to reimagine a future where connection to each other and the world at large, continues to fuel our humanity?
On Thursday, August 20th, the Class of 2020 will showcase their exploration of The Futures of Nearness through the lens of: Retail, Workplace, Intimacy, Food Supply, and Media and Entertainment.
